Hi, I’m Liz – photographer, storyteller, and the heart behind Photography by Liz at The Cowshed.

I’m passionate about capturing authentic moments that speak louder than words—whether it’s your family, your pets, or just you, I’ll help you feel relaxed and confident in front of the camera.

Photography has been part of my life since my teens, and over the years I’ve built a career I truly love—working as a published wedding photographer, freelancing for international charities, and sharing my skills through teaching, mentoring, and judging photography competitions.

After a tough journey with cancer, I decided it was time to follow my dream and open my own cosy studio—a space that’s safe, fun, and uplifting for everyone. My mission? To capture and celebrate life, love and emotions and maybe even help people fall in love with being photographed.

Our homely studio is nestled in rolling countryside, in the lea of Llancayo Windmill with the River Usk on its boundary. This is truly a magical setting, which lends itself to experiencing photography in a relaxed and safe place, even for the most camera shy individual.

Whilst we do offer familiar studio and outdoor sessions, we truly thrive on capturing something different and special. We understand the fleeting nature of life and the importance of making lasting memories. That's why we have designed some truly exceptional experiences to freeze moments in time, evoke deep emotions, and create cherished memories for you. Our aim is not just to take a picture, but to celebrate who you are, the emotions you feel, and the connections you share with your loved ones in a truly extraordinary and personal way.
